The Story
Armac Martin is a luxury brass hardware company, dedicated to creating beautiful brass fixtures and fittings for over 90 years. They believe in exceptional design and exquisite detail; in celebrating true craftsmanship and in the art of using the finest materials to form products that truly stand the test of time.
Origins
Founded in 1929 in Birmingham, England, by Harold McGrail, the local brass founder began Armac by manufacturing reproduction furniture fittings. Through the years, Harold led the business through some of the most challenging times including WW2, right through until his retirement in 1988 when his son Bryan then took over to lead the company. Bryan set about opening export markets for Armac and spent much of his time travelling all over the world from North America to Australia and New Zealand until his own retirement in the nineties. Almost thirty years on, Armac Martin is proud to still export to many of those distributors today.
Heritage
As a fourth-generation family business, Armac Martin hold its heritage in the highest regard. Their private family business is now led by Harold’s grandsons Paul and Mark who continue to develop the business through a continued programme of investment and the same work ethic instilled by their grandfather.
Material
Dating back to 1400 B.C, brass has a rich history with the application of the material used to protect and decorate through the ages in equal measure. The material is timeless, luxurious and above all, the beauty of brass lies in the vast array of finishes that can transform each product which is why we are fascinated with its many qualities.
Rebrand
In 2012, Armac rebranded and entered a new chapter under a new name - Armac Martin. With a reputation built on both heritage and craftsmanship, thoughtfully passed down from generation to generation, Armac Martin has become a leading name in luxury brass cabinet hardware, favoured by architects, interior designers, property developers and customers the world over.
Present
Today, Armac Martin is made up of a dedicated team of over 100 passionate members, each committed to bringing you the finest brass hardware to market and incorporating modern-day manufacturing techniques to ensure that quality is never compromised. From initial design sketches to masterfully hand-finishing every single piece, Armac Martin oversees each phase of production in the heart of England at their Birmingham factory. Their products can be found in some of the world’s finest kitchens and interiors.
